Information
Ynyslas beach is surrounded by dunes which make up the Ynyslas nature Reserve and are home to many rare plants and animals. You can park right on the sands of thebeach (£1 charge in the summer), but don't venture too far away from the dunes in your car as the sand becomes very soft and you WILL get stuck. There is a caravan site on the road to the beach which has a small shop and take-away, and other amenities such as shops, Guest Houses, pubs etc. can be found in nearby Borth. There is also a good 18 hole golf course.

Ynyslas is usaully only sailable about 2.5 hours either side of high tide, but on neap tides it is possible to windsurf and kitesurf here at all states of the tides as long as you know where the sandbars are.
You can also sail and kitesurf in the main channel between Ynysals and Aberdovey, but it is a bit of a trek across the sands at low tide.
Buggy is good on the sands, but the sand is often a little too soft for mountainboards.

The main hazards to watch out for are the sandbanks, some of which are rocky, the strong currents and the jet-ski's

What Ynyslas needs is a nice little tea shop but it's not allowed for some reason. You can get food at Searivers (I think that's the one) caravan site. they do Fish and Chips etc in teh summer and have a small shop but don't expect a wide choice of products. You can get icecream from the Ynyslas Nature reserve thing in teh dunes as well.

Kite Buggying

The kite wardens are not great lovers of Kite Buggying or boarding being done on this side of the dunes if its busy usually asking kiters to go rounf the dunes to the Borth side.

But they don't seem to mind if its empty - but keep and eye out for other users.

It's better on the seafront side most of the time anyway as the sand is much firmer and there is much more room.
